PG stands for Propylene Glycol, a petroleum by-product. The fluid has no odor or color. In vaping it is used to provide a ‘throat hit’, which some users claim is similar to the sensation experienced when smoking tobacco.
VG stands for Vegetable Glycerin. It is a natural chemical, derived from vegetable oils, so is safe for vegetarians. It is commonly used in e-liquid to give a ‘thick’ sensation to vapor. VG has a slightly sweet taste and is considerably thicker than PG. Vegetable Glycerin provides a much smoother throat hit that Propylene Glycol

Vaping Glossary of terminology.
Being new to vaping can be quite overwhelming, especially having to learn a whole lot of new terminology and acronyms. Here is a list to help you understand what’s what in this amazing world of vaping.
ADV – is and All Day Vape. Which is a juice you love so much you can’t put it down and vape it all day long.
Analog – refers to a traditional cigarette
Clouds – the vapour that is exhaled in large plentiful clouds to impress.
Coil – is the little part of the tank/atomiser that heats up to turn the juice into vapour.
Diacetyl – is a flavouring used for buttery flavours. Know to cause Popcorn lung if inhaled in large concentrations. However it is rarely used in juices these days.
DIY – refers to making your own e-juice/e-liquid.
Drip Tip – is the mouthpiece of a mod or device.
Dry Hit – is Bloody Awful !! but it will happen if you have run out of juice in your tank and there’s nothing for the coil to burn and you get a dry burnt cotton taste.
Flooding – When too much juice is in your coil and you get residue in your mouth whilst vaping and is accompanied with a gurgling sound. Best way to rectify this is to remove the juice from the tank (tip it out), while gently holding tissue, cloth or paper town to the air vents (but not blocking them) blow into the mouth piece a few times. You can also remove the coil and rest it on a tissue/paper towel for 24 hours and allow the extra juice to drain out.
DTL – is Direct To Lung drawing the vapour directly into your lungs and produces large quantities of vapour on exhale.
Juice – is the e-liquid/e-juice that is made up of Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable glycerine (VG) and food grade flavour concentrates. So many different flavours to choose from and include: Fruit, Lollies, Bakery, Drinks, Menthol and Tobacco.
Mod – is the e-cigarette/device used to vape. They come in all different shapes, sizes, colours and brands. Some have built in batteries while others have removable batteries to be charged on an external charger.
MTL – is Mouth To Lung vaping and uses the same technique as smoking. You drag the vapour into your mouth then inhale into your lungs.
Nic – is Nicotine.
NRT – Nicotine Replacement Therapy.
Noob – is someone new to vaping. i.e. Newby.
Ohm – the measurement of electrical resistance. For thicker vapour use lower ohm coils i.e. 0.15 ohm
Pen Style – a pen or stick style e-cig.
Priming – to add a few drops of e-liquid to the coil before adding juice to the tank and allowing it to soak for a few minutes before vaping, to avoid a dry hit. Eeeewwww it still makes me shudder.
Steeping – The process of letting newly mixed e-juice to settle and blend. Involves letting the liquid breath for a few hours. Some juice isn’t pre-steeped before purchase and you will need to put it aside for a week or two depending on the flavours. Fruits can usually be shake and vape but custards and creams can take weeks to be at their prime vaping flavour.
Sub Ohm Vaping – using coils with an ohm reading less than 1.0 ohm.
Tank – fits onto the mod/device and holds 2-8ml (depending on brand and style) of e-liquid and the premade coil within a glass or plastic tube.
Throat Hit – the sensation of the vapour on the throat.
Shake n vape – e-juice that is made and immediately ready to vape.
Stinky – refers to a traditional cigarette.
Vaper – Someone who vapes.
Vapers Tongue – a side effect of vaping the one flavour of juice too long and becoming desensitised to taste.
VV – Variable Voltage
VW – Variable Wattage
Watt (Wattage) – The power used by the coil. Higher watts = more vapour.
